Kniffen Web Design
Biography
Academic/Future Goals
I graduated in December 2009 from Lipscomb University with a major in
Infomation Technology Applications and a
Computer Science minor.
I am very passionate about programming, always eager to learn more and further hone my skills.
Ever since 11th grade I have dreamed of becoming a professional programmer.
I got my first chance to work for a company full-time in the summer of 2008 when I interned with
Level 2 Design.
Since it was a small company and they greatly respected my work, I was able to be the sole programmer on 8 different projects.
Web Design Goals
When designing a website there are several things I tend to stress:
- Simple and clean interface
- Compact size for faster loading
- all code is hand typed, not generated by a program
- use of color, rather than large images, wherever possible
- Structured, easy to maintain code
- standards compliant xHTML
- creation of reusable and flexible code
- Dynamic web pages powered by PHP and MySQL
- Use of new technologies such as AJAX and XML
- Custom control panels to allow client to change content
